Connect Your Website to ChatGPT
Use ChatGPT's Developer Mode to build and manage your website through simple conversations. Once connected, you can create pages, write blogs, and manage your website effortlessly.
Getting Server URL
You'll need MCP server URL to connect Claude. Login to Hostbento dashboard and navigate to Settings > General to find your unique MCP server URL.
Setup Instructions
- Open ChatGPT
- Navigate to Settings > Apps and connectors > Advanced settings and turn ON the Developer Mode. Note that Developer Mode is only available for paid ChatGPT users. Moreover, you need to first connect at least one built-in connector before you can add a custom connector. This is confusing, but it is what it is.
- Come back to connectors and click on Create.
- Fill in the details like Name: "hostbento (Your Website Name)", Description: "AI-powered website builder"
- For the MCP Server URL, paste the above server URL, Select Oauth for authentication, click on I trust this application and then Create.
- You will be redirected to authorize the connection. Select the project / website you want to connect and authorize.
- Once the connection is authorized, return to ChatGPT, click on the + icon in the New chat > More > Select Developer Mode
- From Sources, Select the Hostbento connector you just created.
- Start chatting! Try: "Create a landing page for my website", "Show me the north star of my website"
